If you scanned these pages last year around this time then you saw the amazing collection Nike wheeled out to commemorate Black History Month. This year, combined with the sleek preview of kicks in NBA 2K12 Nike Sportswear has unveiled a larger assortment of apparel from hats to jackets and then some. Our eyes scanned directly towards the Huarache Free Run but also didn’t forget to gaze at the premium Air Force 1, Air Max 1 & Blazer models as well. Check out the full gallery below.
“The Rocksmith team headed down to New Orleans for a spring 2012 lookbook video, shot by Lazlo and featuring the team of premiere skate boutique Madsoulz. Their chant of “Swag Gumbo” was exactly what we were thinking, so we scored the video to Clams Casino. The video features a clean selection including the Rock Lauren woven, Academy oxford hooded button up, Signature raw Japanese denim, and Heritage cotton twill Ninjas jacket.”
Divorce be damned, the Black Mamba is playing out of his mind right now. The Lakers have seemingly found the fountain of youth with Bryant racking up four consecutive 40 point games and the Lake Show going 3-1 in those efforts. Want to know how he does it after all these years and his ex-wife snatching away two of his mansions?
The Kobe System.
Nike once again puts forth a hilarious over the top commercial for Bryant’s signature sneaker following last year’s short film as Bryant takes what he’s learned over the years with five rings and passes it on to other uber successful people, luminaries such as Paul Rodriguez, Kanye West, Aziz Ansari (here by accident), Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Serena Williams, Tony Robbins and others. Kobe’s the motivational speaker, you listen and enjoy the system.
We know Houston has an affinity for Jordans probably like no other sneaker capital. We know every Christmas, Jordan Brand decides to release a pair of highly sought after XIs to the general public which more than likely will drive up their already large portfolios and end their selling year with a bang.
So we ask you this: are you buying them? And are they really that important to have when they’ve been retroed three times already?
You have to love the internet and how fast it catches on to certain things. When Chris Paul finally got his wish as was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, the two most noted Clippers still on the squad in DeAndre Jordan & Blake Griffin were more than a bit excited, dubbing the events to follow the move as “lob city”.
As reference to all of the alley-oops we may be seeing at the Staples Center and across the country thanks to the Clips, America’s most cursed franchise thanks to its racist owner and inability to have long term success.
Now, we’ve already seen one “Lob City” t-shirt which was fine but the folks from Dallas’ own Unkommon Kolor one upped everything with that gorgeous tee you see above. To pre-order your own, head over to The Sports Fans Journal’s site or click here to get yours before they go on sale. Only $20 for the soon to be hottest shirt available? Even UNDRCRWN has to nod their heads in the act of recognizing game.
Like death & taxes, it’s expected of Jordan Brand to drop a colorway of the Air Jordan XI near the Christmas holidays. This year, as we predicted last year – the “Concord” version of the popular sneaker will hit retailers on December 23rd. The price tag? A modest $180.
I expect half the city of Houston to be rocking these to the club Christmas weekend.
Hard at work carving out their piece of the pie, the Stunt Team (composed of multiple indivudals including Hoodstar Chantz, Cash McIntosh, Kiki The Dunn & Shaun D grab David Stunts and a little bit of inspiration from Phil Collins for their Winter promo run.
Considering that they are all a team, the Olympic logo emblazened with the Stunt Team logo beneath makes for an appropriate choice. Every member of the squad is in search of gold on a group as well as individually. At the moment, all systems seem primed for Chantz’ Before The Fame release in December.
Late Wednesday night, word leaked out that the Nike AMG, affectionately referred to as the “Marty McFlys” based off of the Back To The Future character actually exist and that Nike would be releasing them.
In actuality, yes, the shoes do exist and as of 10:30 CST last night they’ve been going on sale via eBay auction to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. The bids will end on September 18th.
While the proceeds going to charity are actually great, the bad news for sneakerheads is that only 1500 pairs of the shoe are available so expect bids to be like arms races. If you don’t happen to get a pair, you’re going to have to wait like everyone else will for 2015, when the shoe came out in the movie. Expect someone’s credit card balance to spike over the acquisition of this shoe as even VIPs and Nike reps such as Kevin Durantwon’t be able to get a free pair according to the shoe’s designers Tinker Hatfield & Tiffany Beers.
The NIKE MAG is no longer the “greatest shoe never made.” The mythical shoe that originally captured the imagination of audiences in Back to the Future II is being released – and they’re here to help create a future without Parkinson’s disease.
1500 pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG will be auctioned on eBay with all net proceeds going directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Each day for the duration of the ten-day auction, one hundred and fifty pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG shoes will be made available via eBay’s Fashion Vault. The auction starts September 8, 8:30PM PST, and will end September 18. Thanks to a previous 50 million dollar match given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, all donations will be matched, effectively doubling the contributions from the auction.
The original NIKE MAG was worn by the Back to the Future character Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, in the year 2015. It came alive, lit up and formed to Marty’s foot. The 2011 NIKE MAG shoe was designed to be a precise replica of the original from Back to the Future II. The aesthetic is an exact match, down to the contours of the upper, the glowing LED panel and the electroluminescent NIKE in the strap. The 2011 NIKE MAG illuminates with the pinch of the “ear” of the high top, glowing for five hours per charge.
You can shed tears of disbelief & joy correct? Spotted at TSS, a YouTube video has emerged from “DocEmmettBrown88″ and it drops the motherload, an entire closet filled with the Nike Air MAG also known as the Marty McFly’s from the Back To The Future films. Nike’s already been rumored to have a patent on the self-lacing system but is this some great Photoshop or actual truth to the most wanted sneaker of any 80s baby’s childhood?
Regardless of how you may feel about Air Jordan and their quality products recently, Jordan Brand won’t stop tossing out retro versions of classic Jordans. Originally released during the 1996-97 season, the Air Jordan XII represents the first pair of Jordans I had on my feet and they’ll be a welcomed addition to many a Jordanheads’ feet.
JB is releasing the “Playoff” colorway in April of next year and the “Obsidian” colorway in June. Both will retail for $160 and hopefully will come with the same material that the OGs came with because many a true Jordanhead will tell you that something was a bit off with the “Flu Game” 12s that were released earlier this year.
