Artwork: Big K.R.I.T. – 4EvaNADay x “Boobie Miles”

February 1, 2012 in Artwork, The Leak

First and foremost, Happy Big K.R.I.T. Release Month, everyone! I mean, umm, Happy Black History Month, everyone!

Perhaps in celebration of the occasion – but more than likely, to continue to build hype for his major label debut album 4EvaNADay as he’s preparing for its release later this month – K.R.I.T. took to twitter to make two big announcements. First, he released the official album cover art for 4EvaNADay, which you can check out above.

Secondly, this:

i need a few more days 2 finish my single “I got this” BUT here’s art 4EvaNaDay http://t.co/Ijqkl3dd N im bout 2 drop a special song 2day

Big K.R.I.T.

upon which K.R.I.T. not only hinted towards the name of the album’s upcoming single – “I Got This” – but also promised a special leak for his patiently waiting fans. Which brings us to “Boobie Miles.” Big K.R.I.T. will automatically get points for this with the Texas and Friday Night Lights fans just because of the song’s namesake. But “Boobie Miles” also has K.R.I.T dropping some motivational bars over some of his smoothest instrumentation ever – word to that horn and piano putting in work – somehow making his voice keep time with the thudding bass in the background.

Big K.R.I.T.’s 4EvaNADay is due out in these streets February 20th.

First Look: Dante Higgins – The Dante Higgins Story

January 23, 2012 in Artwork

In black & white, reflective on all the impending success and moments where his lyricism has carried the day outside of his Duke fandom, Dante Higgins sits on the verge of releasing his first album, aptly titled The Dante Higgins Story. Higgins has already carried an infectious flow and style into a plateau where he’s buzzing, seriously.

With a platoon of fans called the Hig Headz, a quoteworthy mixtape release in the last year and plenty of optimism behind him, Higgins looks to capture what he started on the “Blow Up” freestyle from last year and maximize it into a 15 or 16 track project. Balls in Dante’s court now.

Video: Clear Soul Forces – Get No Better

January 10, 2012 in Artwork, Music Video

Peep the latest video from Detroit’s own Clear Soul Forces “Get No Better”. With the visual design skills of FWMJ “Rappers I Know” the CSF crew is destined to rise from obscurity to become a staple in the thing we call hip-hop. www.clearsoulforces.com

First Look: Rick Ross – Rich Forever

January 5, 2012 in Artwork, Tracklists

Health concerns be damned, Rick Ross still continues to work and push the idea of being stagnant and over-saturation. Rich Forever, Rozay’s first full length tape since Ashes To Ashes in late 2010 already comes rife with proclamations and high powered features from Drake, 2 Chainz, Nas, John Legend, Diddy & more. Even though the MMG camp shrunk by one with the departure of Pill (or did it since he was never “officially” apart of MMG), Wale, Meek Mill & Stalley all find their way onto the tape which drops Friday at 3:05 (2:05 CST).

Checkout the tracklist after the jump.

Artwork & Tracklist: J*DaVeY – New Designer Drug

October 25, 2011 in Artwork, Tracklists

I won’t lie – ever since the video for J*DaVeY’s song “Queen of Wonderland” found its way onto these internets, I’ve felt teased. Because “Queen” was the first sign of New Designer Drug, the pair’s follow-up to the short yet absolutely sweet Evil Christian Cop: The Great Mistapes EP; but for a while, sans J*DaVeY’s twitter page occasionally attempting to trend “#NDD,” it was also the ONLY sign of the new album.

Thankfully, we now have more in the form of the album cover art for New Designer Drug and a tracklist as well, courtesy of Miss Jack Davey and Brook D’Leau themselves. I’m calling “Whatcha Lookin @” and “Little Tramps” as early favorites just off the titles alone. Peep the tracklist after the jump. New Designer Drug itself is coming soon. First Look: Jay Electronica’s Call Of Duty: MW3

October 10, 2011 in Artwork

While it may not be the much ballyhooed Act II, it’s a full length project from Jay Electronica. Now, the belief that it will be underwhelming is obviously there given the fact that Jay Elect releases tracks around the same time it takes Lil Wayne to pay producers. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has no release date as of yet but knowing Electronica – we may be waiting for awhile.

Artwork: Rick Ross – God Forgives, I Don’t

October 7, 2011 in Artwork

It’s been Christmas for Rick Ross fans. New joints “I Love My Bitches” and “You The Boss” were leaked this week, and now he’s let loose via his tumblr page the official album art for his forthcoming album, God Forgives, I Don’t.

There’s a sinister epicness present, as it depicts on one side a “forgiving” Ross, or at least Ross praying for another’s forgiveness… and on the other side, a Ross plotting revenge, with the Boss brand’s trademark smoky text dead center. Hopefully this release of the cover means an official tracklist can’t be far behind.

God Forgives, I Don’t‘s ETA is the 13th of the twelfth month.

First Look: Yelawolf’s Radioactive Cover

October 7, 2011 in Artwork

Yelawolf’s Shady debut Radioactive may have been pushed back to November 21st but at least it comes with a good reason. Once again calling on chemicals to make the most potent Slumamerican rap available, Yela chooses an animated boy genius to represent what Radioactive is all about.

“I needed to add some important finishing touches to the album which resulted in the new release date,” said Yelawolf. “I have some surprises in store for the fans that have to be seen before the album comes out. It’s definitely worth the wait.”

First Look: Freddie Gibbs’ “Cold Day In Hell” Artwork

October 1, 2011 in Artwork

Gibbs teamed up with LRG‘s Augor to create the cover for Cold Day In Hell. The cover depicts the CTE gunner riding atop pretty much every single hedonistic thing you can think of. Look for the tape to drop on Halloween.

Artwork: Wale – Ambition

September 30, 2011 in Artwork

After two authorized leaks and a single already making radio spins, Wale unveils the cover to his sophomore album, Ambition. Sort of a watercolor feel to it, but needless to say it goes right in line with Folarin’s newfound confidence. The album drops on 11.11.11 but you can preorder the album here.
