Select Houston tastemakers learned to “stay swift” at a private event hosted by Martell, featuring their new Blue Swift Cognac.

The history of the Martell liquor brand goes as far back as 300 years ago, when the Englishman Jean Martell first discovered a passion for developing the art of cognac. While the brand may come from humble beginnings, Martell has since become synonymous with truly capturing the rich taste and spirit of cognac. To say nothing of their innovative approach in the spirits industry at large, by way of curating experiences that fuse food, music, mixology, and good people.

Day & A Dream recently got to indulge in one of these experiences, when the second installment of Martell’s current “H.O.M.E.” marketing campaign rolled into Houston on the last week of March. Thanks largely in part to Martell Lifestyle Brand Ambassador Tay Mitch and his team, “H.O.M.E.” in Houston truly pulled out all of the stops for the guests in attendance.

“H.O.M.E.” in Houston took place at a private multi-level residence in the Montrose area, and the swanky affair brought together many of the city’s social influencers, media professionals, and cognac lovers with one common interest: living life the #swiftway. Guests in attendance were treated to specialty cocktails all evening. One of the night’s more popular drinks? The Sasha Fierce, an obvious homage to Houston’s own Queen Bey made with Martell VSSD and apple and cranberry juices, with a rosemary garnish.

Of course, lite bites are just as essential for a house party as the libations. So Martell linked up with one of Houston’s best literal “taste-makers”, Chef Tiffani Janelle, to put together a solid lite menu for attendees. The self-anointed “Chef 2 The Stars” opted to provide Southern classics with a twist for guests, serving up dishes like Southern queso, Mar Thai Shrimp Cocktail, and Blue Swift-glazed chicken wings. And those who were fortunate enough to save room for dessert, were rewarded with a Martell-infused milkshake, paired with a chocolate-chip cookie.

But “H.O.M.E.” was all about letting Houston in on the not-so-secret that is Martell’s newest addition, Blue Swift. And what, exactly, sets Blue Swift apart from its predecessor V.S.O.P. and other rivals? While the original Martell cognac is finished in French oak casks, the Blue Swift edition is exclusively finished in Kentucky Bourbon casks. It makes for a marked difference in taste that definitely has to be experienced, to truly be understood.


As Martell continues to take its “H.O.M.E.” pop-up event to various cities throughout the U.S., there’s no doubt that the brand will continue to elevate itself above its peers. Simply put, Martell provided everyone in attendance with major keys to be able to throw their own epic house parties. If you’re ever one of the lucky few to get invited to one of Martell’s exclusive “H.O.M.E.” functions, you’ll want to attend because you’d hate to be the person who had to hear about it.
