solo a star wars story

Young Han, Young Lando (!), Young Chewbaaca and Woody Harrelson? That’s the Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer.

As promised last night, the full Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer landed on Monday morning. A thirty-second Super Bowl teaser isn’t enough for Star Wars fans. Especially not for Atlanta fans who knew one of television’s best shows wasn’t going to return until Donald Glover finished shooting this movie. But we now have our first glimpse of the young Corellian smuggler and like anything Star Wars post-Disney acquisition, anticipation is high. In case if you were wondering how the film would be styled, the trailer leaves little doubt. There’s some gritty shots, Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra looking as if she’d wipe out a whole fleet by herself and of course the Millennium Falcon.

Unlike 2016’s Rogue One, Solo doesn’t get a year’s worth of good feelings to work with in regards to Star Wars lore. The Last Jedi landed in theaters less than three months ago and even though Lucasfilm wanted to space them out, Disney is all about putting foots on necks these days. Despite a change in directors, some issues with Han Solo himself Alden Ehrenreich, the trailer seems promising. Well, it could have really been an entire movie based on Lando Calrissian and none of us would have been upset.

Nope, in fact – we’re all on board with this being a Lando movie guest starring Han Solo for the bulk of it. That’s right, it’s the guy who isn’t young Harrison Ford getting “Dear Summer’d” by Donald Glover (and that fire ass cloak). See you Memorial Day!
