If looks could kill, then Jorja Smith is Agent 47, especially if her “Let Me Down” video – featuring Stormzy – is any indication.

When Jorja Smith released “Let Me Down,” her first single of 2018 featuring UK grime artist Stormzy last week, it was bittersweet. It was great to hear the British songbird pick up where she left off, following a 2017 that pushed her further into the public eye with appearances alongside Drake and on the ‘Insecure’ soundtrack. But “Let Me Down,” beautiful as it was, was oh so brief.

Smith must have known how “Let Me Down” felt like more of a tease than a complete track. So the singer took to YouTube to debut an official set of visuals for the song on Thursday evening. And they’re creative to say the least.

In the four-minute clip, Smith dons a blonde wig, shades, and a trenchcoat to observe a young dancer. It seems at first like the lovely Jorja is merely being a secret admirer; but then she’s shown in the back of a car, being provided a brown bag and instructions from a shady looking driver. “This time don’t mess it up,” he cautions her.

Turns out Jorja is a hit-woman for hire, and the dancer is her latest target. The piano flourishes, Jorja’s beautiful vocals, and Stormzy’s rhymes all come together for one awesome, soap opera-esque mini-flick. Like Stormzy (who pops up towards the visuals’ end) raps on the track, “So, girl, don’t love me – I mean it.” That single line may sum up the “Let Me Down” video in a nutshell, because that admiration comes with consequences.
