Mike Checc brought in his birthday with an official video for his “The Experiment” single.

Mike Checc is back at it like he never left.

The Houston emcee and 7TEEN5 ambassador took a hiatus to deal with personal matters, but resurfaced in September with a new single, “The Experiment.” The Milldizzy-produced cut was only two and a half minutes long, but served as adequate evidence that Mike’s delivery had more bite than ever before.

Hoping to keep that momentum going, Mike Checc gave the “The Experiment” an official set of visuals. The video released to the public this past Thursday, on the rapper’s birthday.

Barf (who also directed Mike Checc’s “Blame” music video) is behind the lens for “The Experiment,” and the visuals don’t do too much. Barf depicts Mike as a man alone, whether he’s posted up on a rooftop or in an abandoned bedroom with his name spray-painted across the ceiling.

Down on my luck, thought I didn’t have much/ but really, I had plenty,” Mike Checc raps on the track. Perspective: it shapes your attitude and also determines your actions. In a sense, that’s exactly what “The Experiment” is. Mike Checc’s displaying his new focus and a new sense of direction… all while remaining as authentic to himself as possible, durag, gold teeth, and all.
