sabrina claudio about time

Months after “Unravel Me” and “Belong To You” blew up, Sabrina Claudio’s new album is here.

I remember the night I first entertained Sabrina Claudio’s music. Earlier this May, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj released “Swish Swish” from Perry’s comeback album. Thanks to SoundCloud’s algorithms, Claudio’s “Unravel Me” became the very next song played and it caused many a stranger to Claudio become an instant fan.

As the months rolled on, Claudio’s name began to pop up more frequently amongst friends and fans. “Unravel Me” had led to hundreds, if not thousands of new followers to her music. This, a clear representation of SoundCloud working in favor of the artist, gave her all the confidence to release her full-length album. About Time sits and stirs upon one thing, the antsy feelings about love, lust and seduction. Hell, “Unravel Me” is probably responsible for a few new relationships or pregnancies at this very moment.

But About Time doesn’t linger or overstay its welcome. Clocking in at 12 tracks and about 41 minutes, Claudio uses all of the different spaces found within the album to get her point across. 6LACK appears on an updated version of “Belong To You,” but the album is mostly a solo affair. The Miami-bred, Los Angeles-based singer knows she’s already struck magic with one sensual, slow-burning late night theme song. Why not build an album out of that same soundscape?
