danny watts black boy meets world

Danny Watts’ debut album is as personal and pensive as it gets.

Houston rapper Danny Watts almost quit music two years ago. Thanks to his good friend Jonwayne, he didn’t. After appearing on Rap Album 2, Watts and Jonwayne locked in the Authors Recording Company head honcho’s LA based studio and crafted an entire album produced by Jonwayne in a week. The result? Black Boy Meets World, an autobiographical account of the life and times of Danny Watts. From growing up without his father to robberies, watching friends die and ultimately his sacrifices as a father, Watts’ 33-minute opus travels many roads and reaches the same destination. Previously shared singles include “Pill” and “Young And Reckless.” You can hear Black Boy Meets World below via Apple Music and purchase it on Bandcamp.
