BeatKing does what he does best. The Houston rapper finds humor in the midst of a storm for his latest topical freestyle.

“I ain’t had a Whataburger in a week,” BeatKing raps on his “Hurricane Harvey Freestyle.” Many a Houstonian will nod their head and tell you that they felt the on a spiritual level. Since last Friday, nothing has been the same in Houston. BeatKing, the noted comedian that he is, finds a little light and fun to be had. In true Club God nature, the rapper runs off a list of situations that popped up during Harvey from Bow Wow throwing up the H in “solidarity,” to Joel Olsteen getting flogged on social media for not immediately offering Lakewood as a shelter.

“Hurricane Harvey Freestyle” was the first beat BeatKing made post-hurricane. “Motherfuck all them celebrities that didn’t donate shit,” he raps while also mentioning that DJ Mr. Rogers and Kirko Bangz did more for the community than the President. “Shoutout to PA and Beaumont cause they went through it too.”

BeatKing can be many things. He can be crass, he can be opinionated. He’s also honest with every single thing he does. That includes noticing how the lower-class neighborhoods of Houston from Fifth Ward to Studewood to Dead End and Alief get smacked with flood waters the easiest.
