jay-z footnotes from the story of o.j.

Footnotes From The Story Of O.J. features Mahershala Ali, Michael B. Jordan, Chris Rock, Van Jones and Kendrick Lamar.

“Fame is the greatest gift God could give a Black man,” Chris Rock says in Footnotes From The Story Of O.J. The 8-minute short film chronicles the thoughts of numerous black men including Rock, Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, Trevor Noah, Mack Wilds, Kendrick Lamar, Will Smith and more in regards to fame, the police, racism and more.

Since its release last Thursday, Jay-Z’s 4:44 album has been critically hailed as one of his best due to its vulnerability and honesty. The opening to Footnotes is the first in a long set of visuals to accompany the album with “4:44” coming next on Friday. The swell of support for 4:44 has been so incredible, it’s forced Sprint and Tidal to make the album available for all Tidal users starting today.

“Response to JAY-Z’s 4:44 has been unbelievable from Sprint and existing TIDAL members who have been able to exclusively stream the album since Friday,” Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure said. “Now anyone who joins TIDAL can experience JAY-Z’s innovative new work. Of course, Sprint customers and those who switch to Sprint can continue to enjoy a six-month trial of TIDAL HiFi on us.”
