Nintendo is hoping to win the fall and holiday season with nostalgia once again with the Super NES Classic Edition.

The NES Classic Edition may at once be one of Nintendo’s greatest successes and also one of its biggest failures. It was a success because the re-release of the Nintendo Entertainment System was met with a HUGE demand. It seemed everyone wanted to get one, and the gaming company couldn’t quite make the supply meet the demand. With the holiday season approaching, Nintendo promised to set aside a number of systems strictly for Christmas, but those were quickly pre-ordered out. The brand eventually stopped production of the NES Classic back in April, making it essentially a collectors’ item for those who were lucky enough to get one.

Nintendo is hoping to replicate that success with a re-release of its 16-bit juggernaut, the Super NES Classic Edition. The company announced plans for the re-release on Monday.

Similar to the NES Classic, the Super NES Classic Edition with come with two controllers and be in a much more compact format. The system will have 21 games preloaded on it, including F-ZERO (!), Contra III: The Alien Wars (The Konami Code back!), Donkey Kong Country, and Super Punch-Out. Sadly, Mortal Kombat 3 and Killer Instinct were amongst the many left out.

Pre-orders for the system are not yet available; and a list of retailers is expected to be revealed by Nintendo in the weeks to come (though you can expect the usual suspects Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and the like to be on that list). For now, you can peep the full list of games below and mark your calendars accordingly. The Super NES Classic Edition is expected to release to retail on September 29, 2017.

(If that date sounds a little familiar, there’s a reason for that – 21 years ago, September 29th was the United States’ “official” release date for the Nintendo 64. The launch date was moved up to September 26th back in 1996. So don’t be surprised if that happens again this September 26th, as well.)
