The CTRL standout gets a cameo from Drew herself.

SZA’s intimate “Drew Barrymore” wooed us in from the moment it kicked off a dream about weed and Narcos episode one. In the context of her lauded debut album CTRL, it’s a piece of defiance. “I get so lonely, I forget what I’m worth,” she sings. In the video, directed by “Humble.” director Dave Meyers, SZA enjoys New York City throughout all of its seasons. Warm and bright, the video even includes a brief cameo from the real Drew Barrymore herself.

In her review of CTRL, Hope Carter wrote, “Every song on the album is cohesively lyrically poignant, succinctly making her point in striking statements, as if she came up with 14 central phrases based off of the female POC experience and built songs around each.”
