With a new album due out in two weeks, 2Chainz unleashes a shake-joint ready collab with Travis Scott, “4 AM.”

How do you follow up a year where you dropped not one, not two, but three projects of certified heat, each with its own breakout single? For 2Chainz, the culprit in question, the answer is simple – you finally drop your third solo studio album. It’s slated to be called Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. And on Thursday night, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper shared Pretty Girls’ lead single, “4 AM.”

If there were such a thing as a strip club symphony, “4 AM” would be that. Relying on flutes, percussion, and a steady snare, the track’s beat is irresistible. 2Chainz had the most impressive run of 2016 second to Gucci Mane, but he knows his hustle wasn’t as noticed as it ought to have been (“Dropped an EP on you n*ggas/ For the free free on you, n*gga/ And you z’z’ed, on a n*gga,” he raps). So “4 AM” is four minutes of Tauheed Epps reminding fans and listeners of his punchline prowess and consistency.

And, yes, perhaps you thought you could escape Travis Scott on the radio once “goosebumps” dies down. But you thought wrong: $cott floats on the hook and plays a perfect complement to Chainz, giving still more allure to an already infectious cut. Expect “4 AM” to make itself right at home on the airwaves and in your favorite stripper’s rotation sooner than later.
