#HashtagLunchbag Houston brings its message of “Living Through Giving” back next Saturday with a Kickoff Edition.

At this point, it’s hard to deny that #HashtagLunchbag has become a movement. What started in LA has legitimately come into its own in the Houston area as well, as Hashtag Lunchbag Houston has drawn out larger and larger crowds with each ensuing edition since its first installment three years ago. In the words of the organizers, “Houston’s homeless population is in great need, and even a small effort will go a long way.”

At #HashtagLunchbag events, attendees literally pack lunches – composed of fresh sandwiches, two snacks, and a bottled water – to be delivered and distributed to those less fortunate on the Houston streets. The first #HashtagLunchbag Houston of the year, sponsored by Kroger, will kick off next weekend on April 22nd. Organizers are asking all attendees to donate $10. Why? Because the event is powered ENTIRELY by donations; and your $10 makes not one, but SIX lunches possible for Houston’s homeless.

Couple good people with a good cause – not to mention 93.7 The Beat being in the building and DJ Shante on hand providing good tunes for the people to work to – and you have a pretty good way to start your Saturday.

The 2017 Kickoff Edition of #HashtagLunchbag Houston goes down Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Grooves Houston, 2300 Pierce St., 77003. Lunch assembly will start at 10 AM, with distribution of lunches to Houston’s homeless beginning around noon. You can RSVP to attend here; and even if you can’t make it, you can still donate to the cause at the link as well.
