gorillaz let me out

The star-studded track from Gorillaz’ Humanz is here.

The news for Gorillaz’ Humanz album has been flowing out every single day. First were the single releases for “Hallelujah Money”, “Ascension” (with Vince Staples), “We Got the Power” (with Noel Gallagher and Jehnny Beth), “Saturnz Barz” (with Popcaan), and “Andromeda” (with D.R.A.M.). Then came the release of the live version of the album. Now with three weeks to go before the April 28 release date, “Let Me Out” surfaces.

Featuring Pusha T & Mavis Staples, the concept of the record came while Damon Albarn was riding a train for two days from New York City. Speaking to Zane Lowe who premiered the record on his Beats 1 show, Albarn mentioned that the distance gave him enough time to write Staples’ verse. He’s also announced that there are 40 more unreleased Gorillaz songs in the stash.

“Look into my eyes, Mama, tell me what you see/Tell me there’s a chance for me to make it out the streets/Tell me that I won’t die at the hands of the police/Promise me I won’t outlive my nephew and my niece.” Pusha raps on the cut. You can hear that as well as Damon’s interview with Zane Lowe below.
