Travis $cott gives his McKnight standout cut featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Goosebumps,” an official set of visuals.

Without question, Travis $cott’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight LP was one of the best releases of 2016. It was so good, in fact, that it enabled Travis to become the first Houston artist with a #1 album this decade. McKnight had its fair share of solid cuts – “the ends,” “Biebs in the Trap,” “wonderful” and of course “pick up the phone” immediately come to mind – but Travis is currently riding the wave of “goosebumps,” his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar that’s all but taken over the radio the last few months.

Hoping to capitalize on the momentum that “goosebumps” still has, Travis $cott has given his smash single an official set of visuals to match. The “goosebumps” video was premiered Monday night exclusively on Apple Music.

There’s a dark romance feel to “goosebumps” the song, but the music video focuses less on the romance and far more on the darkness. With director BRTHR behind the lens, the visuals play out like a four-minute long trip on the finest drugs, during which one sees demons and isn’t so much terrified by them as they are creeped out yet still curious. $cott merely stands at the center of the sinister chaos surrounding him, whether that’s zombies logging bloody-mouthed selfies for the ‘Gram, strippers working a pole in a graveyard, or even Travis himself sitting on a throne (in a grand recreation of his McKnight cover) in what looks like hell. Kendrick Lamar joins him in that hell, the two standing side by side like outlaws in a dark world. Neither Kendrick nor Travis are serenading anyone in this video – no, it’s all about laughing (or at least having a damn good time) amidst the danger.
