The British funk band releases their first album in nearly seven years with Automaton.

Jamiroquai returns after a near seven year hiatus to release Automaton. The album is their first since 2010’s Rock Dust Light Star and is their eighth overall. Previously released singles include the title track & “Cloud 9”.

Frontman Jay Kay & keyboardist Matt Johnson wrote and self-produced the 12-track album which drew inspiration from human dependency on technology. “We as humans are beginning to forget the more pleasant, simple and eloquent things in life and in our environment including our relationship with one another as human beings,” Jay Kay said in a press release.

The end result? An album that returns Jamiroquai to their funk-disco roots, straight out of “Virtual Insanity”. Stream Automaton below.
