Wizkid & Drake drop off a breezy track for the ladies on a new collab, “Come Closer.”

“Jealous people around me, I need to change my life/ I just turn cold-er, every time I try…”

Wizkid, the international Starboy himself, stayed pretty busy for March. He began the month by dropping off a music video for his “Sweet Love” single. Now, he’ll end the month by collaborating with Drake on a new cut, “Come Closer.”

The last time Drake and Wizkid joined forces, the two produced a nice day party ditty with “One Dance.” “Come Closer” seems to carry over the smooth vibe from “One Dance,” with just a little more of an island groove to it.

Wizkid and Drake crooning “yeah’s” on the hook sound almost like audio peer pressure, urging ladies to lose themselves in the melody. On the three-and-a-half minute cut, the Starboy finds himself enamored with the woman who’s caught his eye, admitting that she “make me sing my love.” Aubrey pops up on the song’s second verse, reviving that Dancehall Drake accent as he spits his game and encourages the girl to “steady your form” and insist that he wants to put her in his life. “Come Closer” is infectious, and might well arrive just in time for the spring day parties.
