good culture podcast cosign kg

Cosign KG jumps on the Good Culture podcast to discuss the simultaneous rise of himself & Cosign Magazine.

It’s not the Magic Johnson episode but it’s another episode for the Culture. After a week off, the crew gets back to breaking down the ins and outs of the culture. Tinseltown gets its homage with Get Out. Jay Z makes it to the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame as the first rapper to ever do so. Nicki vs. Remy. How to appreciate FUTURE vs HNDRXX & more.

But the thirty-second episode of the Good Culture podcast mostly centers around Dallas’ Cosign Magazine. The media brand that has established a digital and print format for the storytellers in Dallas, Cosign is approaching its sixth year of existence and that isn’t lost on its founder, Cosign KG.

The story of Cosign is much like any media entity, finding a lane to something that at one point in time felt undiscovered. Over the course of their run, KG has interviewed a bevy of Dallas’ movers and shakers, even outsiders such as Cossa Mia owner and former video vixen Rosa Acosta. KG’ll readily admit the brand has caught some flack for some of its content but as he mentions in his sit-down with GC+, he’s about giving people a platform to share their story. And his story, to which Lauren quips is “biopic worthy” features a stint in Afghanistan, working for Universal Music when they set up shop in Dallas, working with Julia Beverly’s OZONE brand and more.

Episode 32 has plenty to share, including news about Good Culture’s upcoming Hip-Hop Book Club centered around Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city and the return of Bangers & Brunch. RSVP for Bangers & Brunch here. Now, let’s tune in with the culture.
