The Weeknd lives life large with his famous friends in his “Reminder” music video.

Around this time a week ago, The Weeknd had been joined by Daft Punk to perform on stage at the Grammys. The self-anointed “Starboy” is fully embracing the pop star role and lifestyle and hasn’t hesitated to remind fans as such.

It’s fitting, then, that the next track from Abel Tesfaye’s recent Starboy LP to be given a music video is “Reminder.” The Weeknd released the visuals this past Friday in honor of his 28th birthday.

Director Glenn Michael (of Kid Studio out of Toronto) is behind the lens for the “Reminder” visuals, which depict The Weeknd living high in the fast lane with his equally famous friends. A$AP Rocky (behind the wheel of a red-hot Lambo), YG, French Montana, Bryson Tiller and even Drake make cameos in the nearly four-minute-long video. In a sense, “Reminder” acts a sort of bridge between both sides of the singer: shots of drunk girls in the bathroom and even of one tying another up in the bedroom pay homage to The Weeknd’s House of Balloons days; while the image of The Weeknd’s Starboy “disciples” setting fire to the Hollywood sign is more in line with his new “rebel” image.
