jidenna the chief

Jidenna’s long-awaited debut album ‘The Chief’ is here featuring the whole Wondaland camp.

Two years ago, Jidenna broke through as Wondaland’s next hit maker. “Classic Man”, a flip on Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” not only broke through on radio and more, it solidified Wondaland as an imprint that stretched far beyond Janelle Monae. Equipped with talents that stretched beyond singing and rapping, the Nigerian artist managed to spend his two years between “Classic Man” and now flexing his talents.

Fans got a preview of “Long Live The Chief” during the debut season of Marvel’s Luke Cage. They also got a small hint of his acting chops during last season of HBO’s Insecure. The music however, never left Jidenna. The Monáe protégé has released a string of singles from “The Let Out” to “Bambi” that have kept fans hooked. Now on this fine February night, Jidenna releases his debut album, The Chief.

Clocking in at 14 tracks, the album features “Little Bit More”, “Chief Don’t Run” along with Wondaland members St. Beauty, Monáe, Nana Kwabena & Roman GianArthur. Plus, there’s a little something about track number 13 that more than likely will keep Jidenna’s name in headlines from here on out. Stream The Chief from Jidenna below via Apple Music and purchase it on iTunes.
