The Knowles-Carter power couple play guests on “Shining,” the first single from DJ Khaled’s upcoming Grateful album.

DJ Khaled may not have taken home anything from the 59th Grammy Awards, but he may still be one of the winners of tonight regardless. The DJ announced last year that he’d be dropping Grateful, the follow-up to his Grammy-nominated number-one album Major Key, in 2017; and tonight, following the Grammys, he unveiled the LP’s first single, “Shining,” featuring none other than Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Premiered exclusively on TiDAL for now, the single’s cover art boasts the Grateful’s executive producer, Khaled’s son Ahsad, adorned in a tux. But the song itself may be certified Spring cookout music.

“Shining” marks the first time that Bey and Jay have collaborated on a track since “Drunk in Love,” and it reminds us why the two work pretty damn well together. Over a smooth, riding beat, Beyonce dominates the first two verses and hook, claiming she’ll get “ratchet, ratchet, ratchet til two in the morning” and insisting “it’s goin’ down,” with Khaled handling ad-lib duty. Mr. Carter steps in around the 2:52 mark to brag on his plans to spoil his second-born twins and compare himself to 21 Savage. DJ Khaled is good for having that first single always dominate the radio, and “Shining” should keep that trend going and then some.
