Austin Alesia Lani songbird links up with Tone1y & Clova for a little trip with butterflies in mind.

January is not the usual time to get warm, almost summer like gifts from musicians. Austinite Alesia Lani, however, does not subscribe to that doctrine. Thanks to light piano keys followed by kicked up drums and a bass melody, “Ride” takes the summer approach and sits it in the here and now. The SoulBounce premiered track features Tone1y calling up his woman to be with a date in mind. Lani follows suit by bringing the mood into a vibrant, chill tone. If Tone1y wants to party, smoke or drink, Lani wants to get to know you better slowly and surely. Clova chimes in with an anchor leg third verse but by then, the sentiment is done and established.

“Ride” is obviously a fun, first date type of record, in a similar vein to Big Boi’s “Morris Brown” from over a decade ago. The Jon Keyz produced single lives up to its creators name, first letting the piano run before the funk and glide of the bass and drums flutter on. Stream it below.
