Things Get Violent Pretty Quick In The New ‘Logan’ Trailer Brandon Caldwell January 19, 2017 News, Trailers, TV/Movies 1 Comment The new ‘Wolverine’ flick earns its R-rating in latest trailer. The first scene in the new trailer for Logan features X-23 (Dafne Keen) pretty much shoplifting Pringles. When a store clerk approaches her, she immediately goes into survival mode and nearly kills him before Logan (Hugh Jackman) intervenes. While Logan is off saving one poor store clerk’s life, the rest of the world may not nearly be safe. Logan, which marks Hugh Jackman’s final turn as Wolverine looks to capture everything from the Old Man Logan comic. The film puts us in 2029 and the American Southwest. Wolverine’s a limo driver, living with Professor Xavier and Caliban (Stephen Merchant), a mutant who can detect other mutants. Soon, X-23 shows up with similar powers to him and Wolverine must become her protector. Why? Because Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and his band of mercenaries want her and them. From what we’ve gathered, yes Logan is the first X-Men movie (sorry Deadpool) to get the R-rating. There are decapitations, there are plenty of violent moments and curse words. And also, there’s a child who couldn’t be no more than twelve brutally murdering people as a means to get by. Director James Marigold, the man who directed The Wolverine admits that the film sort of acts like Little Miss Sunshine. I mean, sure – a road trip with mutants ala Final Fantasy XV is one thing. But a grizzled old man, a potentially senile Professor X and lots of blood and gore? That isn’t sunshine to me. The first Logan trailer spotlighted our hero’s date with mortality. The latest? Shows he’s still pretty capable of running through people with his claws. Watch the new trailer below. The film opens in theaters on March 3rd.
