Trey Songz & Fabolous begin the new year with a jackin’ for beats EP, Trappy New Years.

The first musical gift of the 2017, it appears, came courtesy of Trey Songz and Fabolous. The VA crooner-spitter digs up his “Trigga” side to go bar for bar with the Brooklyn emcee on a new jackin’ for beats EP, Trappy New Years. The two released the project exclusively through DatPiff.

At six tracks deep, Trigga Trey and Loso offer up new takes on some of the hotter singles of 2016, including the Migos’ “Bad And Boujee,” YFN Lucci’s “Keys to The Streets,” and Gucci Mane & Drake’s “Used To This.” What makes this different, is that Fab’s punchlines seem on another level. Look no further than his turn on “Bad & Boujee” (“I know that she on my d*ck, though – she Angela Yee and I’m Gucci”). And Trey Songz isn’t just along for the ride but offers solid contributions of his own. Songz takes over Travis $cott’s “Pick Up the Phone” and “Spend That Sh*t” with ease, with a solid assist from frequent collaborator MIKExANGEL on the former track. It’s a nice way for both artists to flex their muscle going into the new year, and certainly lets fans and followers alike know that neither Fab nor Trey are going away any time soon.
