harrison ford blade runner 2049

The hunt for replicants is on again in the Blade Runner 2049 trailer.

The first trailer for Blade Runner 2049 offers up what we kind of knew: some things are the same, some are different. The gloomy, neon LA from the original? It’s there. Then we get cuts of a giant head, washed out yellows and more. What’s to come next? Well, we don’t necessarily get that in the teaser trailer.

We do however, get Rick Deckard pointing a gun as if he’s been in hiding for a few years.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

In other words, director Denis Villeneuve gives us the perfect kind of “what now?” trailer. We’ll see what unfurls when “Blade Runner 2049” hits theaters October 6, 2017.
