Beyoncé displays her country flare with a groundbreaking performance of “Daddy Lessons”.

Both Beyoncé & Solange Knowles have paid tribute to their father on their respective albums. Solange’s A Seat At The Table gave way to Mathew Knowles’ voice. Lemonade allowed his story and imparted wisdom to be passed on to his oldest. Tonight, Beyoncé touched a stage even foreign to her: the CMA Awards to perform “Daddy Lessons”.

The monumental aspect of the performance? Beyoncé was joined by the Dixie Chicks, who were previously deemed outcasts after slamming then President George W. Bush. Backing Beyoncé, the trio of Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, and Martie Maguire added a bit more country to an already country tinged record.

Bey’s “Daddy Lessons” performance brought the house down as the crowd inside Nashville’s Bridgeport Arena gave her a standing ovation. Watch the performance below and stream the CDQ of the Dixie x Beyoncé “Daddy Lessons” as well.
