A new album from A Tribe Called Quest is on the way. Seriously.

Late Thursday night, Q-Tip shared news that A Tribe Called Quest fans have been waiting on since 1998. The long rumored sixth and final ATCQ album is coming. In fact it is coming in 2016. In fact, that album is coming out next month. In fact? That album, the final album from Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammed & Jarobi is coming November 11th.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Q-Tip shared to the world the initial plans for the album before we lost Phife Dawg on March 22nd. Initially inspired by their first televised performance in 18 years, the group had already sketched out ideas and laid the ground work on an album. Now the album is apparently finished. Without Phife completely being there, it may feel like the group’s first album People’s Instinctive Travels & The Paths of Rhythm.

Whatever the case may be, one can assume that Tip & Ali wanted to fulfill the wishes of Phife. One final Tribe album may be good for the soul. Fans can make all the jokes they want about how much involvement Consequence will have with the album. They could also wonder about Busta Rhymes’ involvement but he & Q-Tip put out a stellar mixtape The Abstract & The Dragon in 2013.

Thing is, 2016 has taken plenty from music fans. For once, it’s actually giving us something we’ve waited for.
