tommy ford

Tommy Ford, best known for ‘Martin’, ‘Harlem Nights’ & ‘Class Act’ was 52.

You might remember him from his time on New York Undercover as Lieutenant Malcolm Barker, or even as Arsenio Hall‘s brother in Harlem Nights; but actor and director Thomas Mikal Ford will forever be immortalized as Tommy Strawn, the straight man to Martin Lawrence’s comedic brilliance on Martin, a 90s classic.

During it’s five year run on Fox, Ford served as one of the anchors of the show, serving up iconic moments of his own with ease including the long running gag that “Tommy ain’t got no job.” (Though Tisha Campbell finally revealed that he was actually a Boys & Girls Club counselor.)

Just 52, Ford was rushed to an Atlanta hospital on Sunday after suffering an aneurysm in his abdomen. He was later taken off life support at the request of his family. His unfortunate passing comes as yet another blow in a year that has already taken a list of beloved stars.

Salute to an actor that provided us with years of laughs. Take a look at a few of his best moments below:
