The TDE product’s second LP features Kendrick Lamar, SZA & more.

Following the release of previous singles “Free Lunch”, “Park” and “What’s Wrong”, Isaiah Rashad’s second TDE project The Sun’s Tirade is here. The 17-track album also features guest spots from Jay Rock, SZA, Mike WiLL Made-It, Dave Free, Steve Lac & more.

Rashad’s battled in the two years since Cilvia Demo. He fought alcoholism and a Xanax addiction. TDE chief Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith almost booted him from the label until he sobered up. The change in lifestyle has done ZayWop some good. Even though The Sun’s Tirade packs a similar ethos to that of Cilvia Demo, the Chattanooga rapper is still evolving and growing. Mike WiLL Made-It and DK The Punisher show up on the boards to give Rashad’s second album even more gravity towards it. A few of the bigger songs on the album are ended with audio recordings of Rashad speaking to someone in a room. It plays as some form of therapy, loosening up from the sullen demeanor of depression and isolation.

On “where u at?” he’s counting down the months from mid-Spring until now of people wanting new music. He hears fans the same way he hears himself. In order to feel free as a 25-year-old, Rashad has to rap until his heart won’t let him anymore. Even if he’s not fully venting, it’s a session where we’re both patient and physician, letting TDE’s southern arm do all the heavy lifting.
