Sevyn Streeter prepares the streets for her debut album with her new single “Prolly,” featuring Gucci Mane.

Sevyn Streeter has spent most of 2016 in the background. The Atlantic Records singer-songwriter logged some impressive features alongside the likes of INGRID and ScHoolboy Q on their respective projects. But on the solo front, it appeared Sevyn went dark.

The reason why? After one EP – 2013’s Call Me Crazy, But… – and a string of radio records, Sevyn was hard at work on her major label debut, entitled Girl, Interrupted. And on Monday, Sevyn shared an official music video for the LP’s lead single, “Prolly” featuring Gucci Mane.

Sevyn gave The Fader the greenlight to premiere “Prolly’s” video, and also opened up with the magazine a bit about her album. “The theme of this album comes from me taking accountability for the mistakes and successes in my life,” the singer explained, “learning lessons about the decisions I’ve made.”

Mike Ho handles direction for “Prolly’s” visuals, merging elements from “California Love” and Mad Max as he depicts Sevyn in a post-apocalyptic world surrounded by goons. Guwop, continuing his 2016 run, shows up alongside Sevyn via hologram, but make no mistake – “Prolly” is all about Sevyn setting free her bad side. “Did I go to far tonight? I don’t know – prolly,” she all but teases on the hook.

Watch the visuals for Sevyn Streeter’s “Prolly” cut, featuring Gucci Mane, up top, and grab the single now on iTunes. The singer’s long-awaited debut LP, Girl, Interrupted – which boasts appearances from Dave East, Ty Dolla $ign, and Dej Loaf, to name a few – is slated to arrive later this year.
