Slim Thug struck gold last year with “Church”, the Joel Olsteen meets Mr. Lee banger that brought Houston’s infatuation with organs and influential messages full circle. In a way, almost all of Slim’s raps these days run in a similar circle to that of Curren$y. He’s blowing big weed, riding big cars and living the kind of life usually reserved for a king without many diplomatic answers. Slim Thug sees himself as a King who only answers to God. In other words, Slim has been ordained by the Lord to pass out these verbal blessings to the people. It’s up to you to take his words and get your hustle on or not.

On “Peaceful,” the first record from Slim since he and Z-Ro collaborated for April’s “Shake Life”, Slim’s dodging any bit of stress that may come his way. The Donnie Houston produced record finds Thugger looking for his own way of isolation away from the world. “Tired of fighting cases over dumb shit (fuck that), I’m tryna run shit,” he raps on “Peaceful”. “I choose to be one deep, cause that’s how you get the best sleep.”

The groovy guitar led record is the lead from the upcoming fourth volume of Slim’s Hogg Life series due in August. Stream “Peaceful” below.
