Ingrid Release-Saint Heron

Saint Heron to host FREE Ingrid Trill Feels EP release event this Thursday.

You simply can’t go wrong with good music, good vibes, and crawfish.

That’s the motive behind Saint Heron’s hosting of emerging artist Ingrid’s Trill Feels EP release event. It’s certainly fitting that Saint Heron (the creative braintrust of Solange Knowles) would curate Ingrid (who’s signed to Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment umbrella)’s formal introduction to the world at large, by celebrating her right here at home.

Ingrid will be the second Parkwood act to release a project this year, coming on the heels of Chloe x Halle’s stellar Sugar Symphony EP, and looks to keep the momentum going for Beyonce’s evolving production company-turned-label and artist management brand. Hailing from Houston’s Third Ward, Ingrid joins the current wave of woman emcees with a solid delivery and an impeccable flow. But unlike her peers, Ingrid drips The Tre through and through. It’s why her Sevyn Streeter-assisted buzz single “FLEX” thumps with no apologies; and why its follow-up, the unapologetically cocky “Double Pedigree,” sounds like a distant relative of the Screwed Up Click. To say nothing of how she has a nifty writing credit on Beyonce’s LEMONADE song “Love Drought.”

The Trill Feels Release Party is free to attend with RSVP (for ages 21 and older) and will consist of a crawfish boil, kicking off 6 PM; Ingrid herself taking the stage to perform the EP live at 9 PM; and a “Trill Music Hour” from 10 PM to midnight, featuring “the entire scope of rap and trill music in Houston to pay homage.” DJ Kyle Woods will handle sounds for the evening, though attendees shouldn’t be surprised if Solange herself hops on the ones and twos at some point during the function.

It goes down Thursday, June 16th, starting at 6 PM, at Walter’s Downtown, 1120 Naylor Street. Those planning to attend can RSVP here.
