Sony premiered a brand new trailer for a Spider-Man game heading to PS4

When Spider-Man made his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America: Civil War, fans rejoiced. Everything was perfect, from his wisecracks to his mannerisms and spiffy (Tony Stark-provided) suit. It was easily the best representation of the Web Crawler since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. Yes, since all the way back then.

With the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) now underway, Sony was on deck to present last night and, as part of their presentation, they unveiled a brand-new Spidey set exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Insomniac Games – the studio behind such titles as Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive – are crafting a new, original game for Peter Parker & company in step with Marvel Studios.

Based on what can be easily assumed to be a pre-rendered trailer, the game does look impressive. The action we do get in the trailer is pretty standard base for a Spidey game, with plenty of web shooting, acrobatics, and some nifty environmental actions. Plus, given its semi-realistic style, we could arguably say that the game’s release will coincide with the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, aka Spidey’s full return to the Marvel Universe in next summer. For now you can watch the teaser trailer for Spider-Man PS4 below.
