BET’s Prince tribute for the 2016 BET Awards has an official lineup.

Following their shade heavy tweet following Madonna’s maligned tribute to Prince at the Billboard Music Awards, BET announced early Tuesday that D’Angelo, Janelle Monae, The Roots & Shelia E. would take part in a Prince tribute at the 2016 BET Awards in Los Angeles.

“Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We got you,” the network’s Twitter account said a few weeks ago.

On what would have been Prince Rogers Nelson’s 58th birthday, the network rolled out a press release championing Monaé, The Roots and D’Angelo as direct influences of Prince’s Minnesota funk style with Shelia E. being the direct correlation to Prince then and Prince now.

The official lineup is far more stronger than what Billboard delivered in tributary notion to the Purple One. Though official selections aren’t known at current time, one can’t mistake that D’Angelo’s “Sometimes It Snows In April” cover on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon pretty much guaranteed his entrance into the fray. The 2016 BET Awards will air on June 26th. Here’s to hoping that BET does good on their promise to properly honor one of the greatest musicians who ever lived.
