At least four people were shot at New York’s Irving Plaza on Wednesday night, one of them fatally.

What was supposed to be an ordinary night for hip-hop at Irving Plaza in New York turned tragic on Wednesday night. Four people were shot, including one fatality at the Manhattan venue, moments before T.I. was scheduled to perform. Brooklyn rappers Maino & Uncle Murda were on stage when the shooting took place.

According to Buzzfeed and other news sources, shots began to ring out around 10:15 PM inside one of the green rooms inside Irving Plaza. Concert goers immediately began to flee the two story venue. An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made nor has a suspect been named.

One male has died according to the New York Police Department. Two other men and a woman were also wounded in the shooting but are expected to survive their injuries. One of the men, Troy Ave was grazed by a bullet while the woman was shot in the leg according to Pix11’s Myles Mill.

“Everybody was having a good time until everybody started running — that’s it,” a concert goer told NBC New York. “They didn’t search nobody, they didn’t check no IDs.”

It’s currently unclear what prompted the shooting. More than 1,000 people attended Irving Plaza hoping for a little fun and revelry. Instead, the night ended in the most horrific of ways.
