Ye Ali - Mine

As the wait continues for Ye Ali & Kirko Bangz’s collaborative 4Play EP, both artists seem to at least be doing their own thing and consistently dropping solo work. The latter released his solid “Love & Basketball” single earlier this week.

Ye Ali, on the other hand, issued a promise to release “new music every day” this week, and he’s been consistent enough in that regard. Following the release of “Serious” on Wednesday, the Los Angeles crooner took to his Soundcloud to drop three new loosies on midnight Thursday.

But these aren’t throwaways, and any of the songs might could be added to your “Just Kick It” set the mood playlist. On the synth-laced, Justyn Waves-produced “ATL/LAX,” for example, Ye Ali links up with Nessly, reflecting while he’s stuck in the airport on a layover and isn’t too proud to beg, pleading with his woman over the phone, “I know you got a job, girl/ but don’t tell me that you’re leavin’!” He offers up his own take on Lapalux’s “Without You” in an “interlude” (perhaps for 4Play?), produced by The Aquadice. And for the finale, Ye Ali lets his sing-songy flow float over Roc Legion’s scaled-back production on “Mine,” a seductive and slightly territorial slow-burner that’s painfully short.

Stream all three new releases from the self-proclaimed Traphouse Jodeci down below. “Mine” and “Without You (Interlude)” can also be downloaded for the free.
