Fans of Starz’ Power will only have to wait a few short months before they get reintroduced to the lives of Ghost, Tommy, Tasha, Angela & Kanan. A preview for the show’s highly anticipated third season appeared online with the tagline: “Ghost Must Die”.

When we last left James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. His former cartel boss Felipe Lobos knows he attempted to have him killed. His ex-wife, Tasha (Naturi Naughton) believes that he got her lover Sean killed. His former best friend Tommy (Joseph Sikora) wants to kill him on behalf of Lobos and the request of his kleptomaniac girlfriend, his lover and FBI agent Angela (Lela Loren) is entangled in a possible takedown from her FBI co-worker Greg and of course, there’s the street war he’s involved in with Kanan (50 Cent). Needless to say, everybody except Angela may want Ghost dead, including Ghost himself.

Declaring himself “out the game” in the season 3 trailer, Ghost contends with plenty. Tasha is seen clutching the kids as if she’s officially moved on for good and there’s enough sex, drama, lies, intrigue and potential violence layered throughout. Those are the exact reasons and themes that have made Power Starz’ most watched original show.

The bad news about Power? The third season for the hit TV show won’t air until July, a month later than the customary June date the show received for seasons 1 & 2. The good news, even for non-Starz subscribers is that they can follow along with this season as well as catch up with the prior two efforts via the Starz App on the Google Play and iTunes stores.

“I really want to blow people’s minds,” showrunner Courtney Kemp told EW about the show’s upcoming third season. “I really want to pump more octane in to season 3. More things will happen and there’s more stimuli. It’s not that you can’t have quiet moments, but I want people to have this adrenaline-fueled experience at home.”
