If the debut official trailer for Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse focused more on (re)introducing the titular character and loading up the Easter Eggs with all the mutant cameos, then the second trailer arguably intends to let both fans and viewers know what’s at stake.

Rehashing some of the more choice pieces of the dialogue and footage with new shots of the world in chaos, the second X-Men: Apocalypse trailer drives the point home of the impending war between mutant-god Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen, and the X-Men at their most ragtag and bare-bones, seemingly with the heart to make up for their lack of physical strength. Interestingly, it’s Raven/Mystique who leads the charge against Magneto in the wake of Professor Charles Xavier’s being sidelined.

X-Men: Apocalypse touches down in theaters on May 27, 2016.
