DVSN - Sept 5-cover

Hours after hijacking OVO Sound Radio and debuting a bit of new material – including a remake of Aaliyah’s “One in A Million” – the rumor of a midnight release has been proven true: mysterious vocalist DVSN’s debut album SEPT. 5th is officially out now. The album can currently be streamed in full on the Apple Music application.

Ten tracks deep, SEPT. 5th is surprisingly feature-free. It’s a common staple amongst most OVO acts to have Drake appear at least once on a debut, but Aubrey Graham is absent here. That may be a good thing – it allows DVSN to exist on his own terms, and let his own distinctive sound (the same one that acquired him the following he has and that got him signed to OVO Sound in the first place) be his selling point. Indeed, the LP smartly begins and ends with two of the soundcloud standouts that led to DVSN’s popularity, with “With You” serving as an intro and the smooth “The Line” playing the outro.

You can stream and buy DVSN’s debut LP SEPT. 5th now via Apple Music/iTunes here.
