For R&B music lovers, the name “DVSN” has been one to keep an eye out for. The mysterious “line with two dots” – whose name is pronounced “Division,” just like his logo – doesn’t have a “face” yet and is known mostly due to his association with producer Nineteen85. But, to his credit, DVSN has dropped at least three hard-hitting slow-burners on his Soundcloud in as many months that have caused his fanbase to rise quickly.

Apparently, Drake is striking while the iron is hot, as DVSN has been added to the Toronto rapper’s OVO Sound brand. The rumor was all but confirmed last night, when producer Noah “40” Shebib posted DVSN’s logo to instagram in the signature OVO black and gold colors, tagging the artist and label as a caption; OVO Sound did the same on Twitter. And on iTunes, all of the artist’s previous releases are now available for purchase, bearing the “OVO Sound” release tag.

Given Drake’s penchant to “vulture” artists and their sound, one worries if Aubrey Graham will latch on to what DVSN has already built (Drake might, for example, fit perfectly on a “Too Deep” remix). To say nothing of OVO Sound’s somewhat questionable reputation as a label with none of its artists – from iLoveMakonnen to PARTYNEXTDOOR to Majid Jordan, though EIC Brandon Caldwell would say otherwise – really taking off after signing and their biggest “hits” just so happening to bear Drake on them. On the other hand, being affiliated with OVO might be a huge promo push for the mysterious artist. DVSN’s soundcloud views are already big on their own. Just imagine how much further he MIGHT could go with “40” on an instrumental, for example, or with the clout October’s Very Own brings. It could go left, but it could also go very, very right.

If you haven’t yet been acquainted with DVSN, you can listen to the artist’s “Too Deep” and “Hallucinations” singles for yourself, down below.
