Ye Ali - Gucci Umbrella (f. Lil Aaron, Nessly)

It seems like Ye Ali can do no wrong. Seriously. The Los Angeles crooner hasn’t missed once since releasing his “Thigh Kisser” singer last fall, following it up with equally infectious tracks “Ring 4x” and “Cashin’ Out.” Ye Ali looks to keep that momentum going with the release of his latest drop, “Gucci Umbrella.”

Jett Dean is on the boards for “Gucci Umbrella,” employing tinkling keys and a looping beat designed to put listeners in a trance. Ye Ali recruits Lil’ Aaron and Nessly as solid features for his five-minute lullaby of sorts, a certified radio hit in the making that’s too upbeat to be a slow burner but yet too smooth to be an outright club banger.

But “Gucci Umbrella” wasn’t the only thing Ye Ali revealed this week.

That’s right – Ye Ali will collab on a brand new EP, 4Play, with Houston emcee Kirko Bangz (the latter of whom just released an EP of his own, the ladies’ friendly Playa Made project). While Ye Ali’s debut solo project is still the one many are waiting on, 4Play might prove to be a boost for both the R&B artist all but knighted next out of the West and the once-savior of Houston rap who is trying to reclaim his status. The first taste of 4Play and the EP’s first single, “Go First,” is scheduled to drop on Thursday.
