If you were hoping for Nikki Bella to return to give the diva’s division a second feud for WrestleMania season, you’re going to have to wait. The WWE Diva is set to have a possible career-ending neck surgery to repair in her words “basically a broken neck, a herniated disk,” according to an interview with E!.

How did Nikki bring on such wear and tear to her neck? Constant usage of her finishing move, The Rack Attack. Bella had attempted to heal her injuries and stepped away from active competition, hoping that self rehab would help her put off the surgery and return to the ring much sooner than later. Now, that’s rather impossible and she’s set to go under the knife on Wednesday.

The injury will keep Nikki Bella from traveling for the next three months, which immediately keeps her out of WrestleMania 32 in Dallas. When could she be cleared? July at the earliest. Even then she may not have a distinct timeline for when she’ll be able to climb back into the ring.

“In six months time is when I will get that final X-ray to be like, ‘Hey look you can get back in that ring and kick some a–,’” Nikki revealed.

But Nikki explained that surgery could also be career-ending.

“There is a potential that this is career-ending,” Nikki explained. “We will only know that when I get out of surgery on Wednesday and then basically how the bone heals Wednesday. So that’s been tough but I truly have such hope that I will get to compete in that ring another day, I really do.”

The news however doesn’t interrupt her Total Divas schedule as plenty of the WWE Divas reality show will be dedicated to her healing up from her surgery. Bella won the 2015 Slammy for Diva of the Year and now she and her non-committal life partner John Cena will be sitting on the shelf, healing up their respective injuries. Let’s hope for a speedy recovery for them both.
