toro-y-moi-fitz-2

Chaz Bundick’s Toro Y Moi project has never found himself comfortable in one lane or genre. There was the shimmery dance and electro R&B feel of Anything In Return released a couple of years ago and then What For? a send up to classic pop rock. Samantha arrived this past August with features from Nosaj Thing, Rome Fortune & Kool AD and it was nothing but hip-hop ready cuts. In other words, Chaz Bundick’s Toro Y Moi is nothing more than a chameleon outfit willing to turn into anything it wants to at a moment’s notice. Over the weekend, Toro Y Moi released four #rare cuts, unreleased onto his Soundcloud page over the weekend and you can tell by the labeling of how the fell in terms of sequencing. Most of it feels like 2010 Toro Y Moi, where “New Beat” pretty much dominated my life for a good couple of months. Stream “Couplegirls,” “4 – 5-12b,” “3 – 4-12b,” and 2 – 1-12b” below.
