Watch The Official ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer [@xmenmovies] Brandon Caldwell December 11, 2015 News, TV/Movies 1 Comment When images first leaked from X-Men: Apocalypse, the main concern about it wasn’t that it was another Bryan Singer directed X-Men flick that got its legs back after Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class film. Or even the excellent X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Nope, it was the original image of Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse looking more like Ivan Ooze than the greatest non-Magneto villain that the X-Men Universe had to offer. Thankfully now that the official trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is here, Apocalypse looks far more like a villain who feels disenfranchised by all of humanity and wants to wipe it clean to start over. Not to mention there’s a nice Easter Egg at the end of the trailer where James McAvoy finally becomes the bald Professor X we know and love. The actor recently revealed on The Graham Norton Show in the UK how exactly Charles lost his hair in the first place. “He ends up going through something so horrible and painful that he literally half pulls his hair out half… it falls out.” Here’s the synopsis. For those who favor the X-Men comics series, this looks like Singer’s version of Dark Phoenix, only using Apocalypse in the place of Jean Gray which obviously is exciting and a bit more interesting. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction. X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters May 27, 2016.
