2016 is shaping up to be a big year for comic book movies. Both Marvel and DC have full slates set for next year – the former with Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Captain America: Civil War on deck; and the latter with Batman Vs. Superman, the The Killing Joke animated comic, and Suicide Squad in the chamber. Up until now, the trailers for all but one of those had surfaced.

That changed last night, when Marvel’s official trailer for Captain America: Civil War debuted during ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

To call the trailer for Captain America: Civil War “epic,” is an understatement. The former “Winter Soldier” Bucky Barnes is now an enemy of the state and one Captain America feels compelled to protect as his former best friend. Iron Man, War Machine, and Black Widow are recruited by the government to help stop Captain America, who assembles the new Avengers – the bunch rounded up at the conclusion of Age of Ultron – and the Falcon to fight back. What ensues is two minutes of grand fighting, running into danger, Iron Man getting his ass kicked by Cap and Bucky, loyalty being tested… oh, and the first on-screen appearance of Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther, hitting Bucky with a super kick Shawn Michaels would be proud of.

Captain America: Civil War arrives in theaters on May 5, 2016.
