Taylor Bennett likes to keep the relationship with his brother, Chance The Rapper a bit of an industry secret. “It’s different having a sibling in the entertainment business,” Bennett tells Rolling Stone. “My thing with my brother is that he always wanted me to work on myself and create my own name before we got to work together. He always knew that I was great enough to get a fanbase and sell out shows and get a lot of views.”

The two of them collaborated on “Broad Shoulders”, a simple track where the two brothers trade verses about family and growing up in Chicago over a simple piano melody. If you can’t tell, Taylor’s flow is a bit faster than his brother’s tongue-tied weave, opting to work in the same mold as his rap hero, Twista. “It’s a very meaningful song to our family and our next generation,” Bennett says of “Broad Shoulders”. “Chance is now a father, and in the third verse, I speak about my niece — his daughter — so it’s a really emotional and compassionate song.”

As much of a big brother as he is to Taylor, Chance couldn’t be more proud of the younger Bennett’s upcoming new project, the far lengthier Broad Shoulders. “I’m so ready for Tay’s new project,” he told Rolling Stone. “It’s raw to watch him mature as an artist and a man. He put everything into this one.”
