It turns we won’t have to wait for GoldLink’s debut album And After That, We Didn’t Talk to drop on November 13th, after all. The rapper has opted instead to release AATWDT on today, the first New Music Friday of November, and his timing is pretty impeccable. For those still uncertain about what GoldLink has to offer, however, he’s partnered with Spotify to allow a free stream of the complete album.

Propelled forward by lead singles “Spectrum” and “Unique,And After That We Didn’t Talk is low on both features (with appearances from Anderson.Paak, Masego, and Demo Taped) and run length (it clocks in at just over a half-hour). But GoldLink is good at what he does – he manages to infuse And After That’s eleven tracks with a diversity of sound that still across the board cohesive. “Palm Trees,” with its smooth summer feel, is likely going to get plenty of rotation leading into the winter, and the scaled-back island groove “Polarized” is superb. But GoldLink’s singing voice stands out on And After That just as much as his bars; look no further than the musician vocalizing on the Masego-assisted “Last Night.”
