Jay-Von - Oochie Wally

After taking a brief hiatus last week for Halloween purposes – though Jay-Von, rightfully, charges it on the mini-monsoon that swept through the city Friday night – Jay-Von is back to business with his Friday Night Freestyles series.

Keeping with his current late ’90s binge (the last being Biggie’s “Can’t You See”) the Mo. City emcee’s “victim” this week is actually inspired by another freestyle: Paul Wall and Chamillionaire’s legendary bar exchange over Nas’s “Oochie Wally” single. You see, the Black man in the JJ Watt jersey in the single artwork isn’t just there for show. That’s Jay-Von himself, crashing DJ Mosama’s flip of the instrumental and peppering this week’s freestyle with references to Treasures, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil’ Flip, H-Town’s Northside, and of course the Houston Texans’ #99 and his adoring public.

Jay-Von’s Fuck A Title EP project is still being cooked up, but on the way.
