Let’s let some things sink in. Coldplay, considered by a whole heap of people to have created some of the saddest, melancholy music of the last decade or so is set to release a brand new album next month. That album, A Head Full Of Dreams (what an obvious Coldplay title) will not feature Brian Eno behind the boards on production but Norwegian producers Stargate. You know Stargate, the guys behind Ne-Yo’s “So Sick”, Beyonce’s “Irreplacable” and more. Speaking of Beyonce, she’s going to guest appear on A Head Full Of Dreams along with Tove Lo and Oasis’ own Noel Gallagher.

So, new Coldplay album and now “Adventure Of A Lifetime” pops up. It’s glossier, rave-worthy Euro party music where Chris Martin can gets to basically play master of ceremonies for the world. And it may be the start of the beginning for Coldplay. In an interview with Zane Lowe, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said that the project was “the completion of something” and when it came time to putting the final touches on A Head Full Of Dreams, Martin said the band had “to think of it as a final thing we’re doing” or else the result wouldn’t be as championed.

So that’s the rundown on “Adventure Of A Lifetime” and Coldplay’s upcoming new album. In other words, the British are coming for your holiday album charts and there’s nothing you can do about it.
